Donate online to help UBC student Rumana Monzur

The University of British Columbia has set up a website to collect donations to help student Rumana Monzur, who was severely beaten in an attack by her husband.

Monzur was attacked while visiting her home city of Dhaka, Bangladesh while on a break from her Masters studies in Political Science at UBC. Monzur was left blind by the attack and is recovering in hospital with the care of her family.

Members of the community have expressed tremendous support for Monzur. Members of the community interested in contributing to the fund UBC established to assist Monzur with the immediate costs of this terrible attack and to support her future plans can do so online.

For more information about Monzur or to make a donation, please visit: www.ubc.ca/helprumana

On Sunday, June 26, student colleagues of Monzur will be holding a rally at the Vancouver Art Gallery: http://www.facebook.com/WeCanBC#!/event.php?eid=231210133558509
