UBC student Martha McCabe finished fifth in the women’s 200m breaststroke at the 2012 Summer Olympics.
McCabe finished the race in 2:23.16, just 3.57 seconds behind gold medallist Rebecca Soni of the United States, who set a new world record of 2:19.59.
McCabe, a 2011 World Championship bronze medallist, bettered her time of 2:24:09 from Wednesday’s semi-final.
