UBC deans take one for the team: First to get flu shots from students

Event: Students from UBC medical, nursing and pharmaceutical sciences programs will give flu shots to university leaders, students, staff and faculty at a media event.

Date/Time: Tuesday, Oct 30, 2 -3 p.m.

Location: Pharmaceutical Science Building, Room 3206
2405 Wesbrook Mall (Main entrance via Agronomy Road).

Photo/Assignment Editors: Three medical, nursing and pharmaceutical science students will be giving flu shots to UBC deans, associate deans and other students. Interview opportunities with students and Robert Sindelar, dean of Pharmaceutical Sciences.


Free flu shot clinics for UBC students, faculty and staff have also become a learning opportunity. More than 200 medical, nursing and pharmaceutical sciences students will be administering flu shots at clinics around campus throughout the month of November.

Media are invited to attend the first flu clinic where deans and associate deans from medical, nursing and pharmaceutical sciences programs will receive influenza immunizations from their own students.
