learning environment
UBC research funding grew by 48 per cent in 2002-03. Construction
of approximately $600 million worth of new and improved academic
facilities progressed across campus. And more students than ever
before enrolled in innovative interdisciplinary programs like Arts
One, Science One, Community Service Learning opportunities and a
multitude of international exchange experiences.
In addition to its exceptional academics, students enjoyed UBC's
popular intramurals, the Legacy Games, as well as performances at
the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts, the Frederic Wood Theatre
and showings at the Morris and Helen Belkin Art Gallery. Students
also had access to world-class campus gardens, athletics facilities
and outdoor trails - not to mention nearby Vancouver. |
