The inaugural UBC Reports Most Likely to Change the World contest received 45 nominations from students, faculty and staff across both campuses.
Researchers with the Neglected Global Diseases Initiative (NGDI) at the University of British Columbia have attracted more than $20 million in funding to find ways to eliminate diseases and conditions that kill millions of people in developing countries worldwide.
A UBC student’s call to help a university in Cambodia resulted in a flood of donations from departments all over campus, via the university’s new reuse-it! program. The second-hand items were enough to fill a container, which is now on a ship bound for Southeast Asia.
