Rumana Monzur completes initial medical care

Further to an update provided via UBC on July 14, masters student Rumana Monzur completed eye surgeries last week. Four surgeries were performed in an attempt to establish some vision, but the severity of the injuries were found to be beyond repair.

UBC student Rumana Monzur returns to Canada

University of British Columbia graduate student Rumana Monzur is en route to Vancouver accompanied by her father. Monzur, who was severely beaten in an attack in June, will receive further medical evaluation and treatment in Canada. The two are expected to arrive Tuesday afternoon.
